Drinks receptions can be held immediately after the wedding service in the Garden room - a quiet, cool and peaceful room that is ideal for your guests to congregate in, while you are having those all-important photographs taken. The decor of the Garden Room is a light cream, so your own colour scheme may be introduced to the room if required. Drinks may be served in the Garden Room, where your guests can mingle and make use of the adjoining French Garden. In the winter when the House is closed to the public we can offer you exclusive hire of the Orangey plus the Abbey's Cloisters and Becket Room on selected Saturday afternoons from November through to March. The Orangey door opens out into the 15th century windowed Cloisters, that form a quadrangle around a central courtyard which is laid out as a Mary Garden. Imagine engaging your guests in this unique historic and atmospheric setting. You may use the Cloisters purely as a place to promenade and meet and greet your guests after the civil marriage ceremony has taken place, or additionally you could have musical entertainment and refreshments served buffet-style by our approved caterers. Newstead Abbey has two unique reception rooms available for hire; the stylish West Front Suite offers stunning views of Newstead Abbey's breathtaking facade, while the Cascade Room has impressive views over the lake, and is perfect for more intimate wedding receptions.
