July 2011 sees a beautiful, bright Saturday for my first wedding as first photographer at the Nottinghamshire venue of Kelham hall. As usual I have visited the venue before the wedding to meet the heads of staff and find out all the usual spots for portraits and groups, with this knowledge I’m free to wonder around Kelham Hall and its impressive grounds to see where I want to take my wedding couple. I also have a plan for if the great British weather prevents us from holding much of the photograph outside.

Whilst wedding photography is not for the faint hearted it is an awesome responsibility, but with planning and a few tips and hints, it can also be fun. Take a look at a few tips before you start Draw up a contract that specifies the schedule, which products the couple will be given, and any kind of liabilities you will accept in the event that the couple are unsatisfied with the photographs. If at all possible, cut your teeth by working as an assistant or second camera for a working professional. If you have never worked a wedding, only accept the job if couple had not originally planned to have for a experienced photographer. Set up a meeting with the couple to talk over their wedding. Wedding Photography at Bolsover Castle
This fairytale 17th century castle at Bolsover is a breathtaking location for your wedding. Able to accommodate 200 guests for a ceremony, this large and unusual room looks striking when styled for an evening dinner dance, when it can host 175 guests. Initially the south transept of the Priory Church, the Orangery received its name from the Byron family, who purchased the Newstead estate from Henry VIII in 1540, and modified the transept into a room for maturing citrus fruits. The present custodians of Newstead Abbey are Nottingham City Council, who are working hard to promote this exquisite estate and utilize the stunning house and grounds as a wedding venue. Church wedding photography in Kedleston, Derbyshire
Way back in ancient times, marriage was much more informal. Couples could make a promise to each other in front of a witness at any spot or precious time, and it was recognised as a joining arrangement. In fact, it was regarded as enough to call God as a witness; His power was considered to be sufficient to override His lack of physical presence! This of course led to many a Knight making a statement of marriage to a girl, having his wicked way then disappearing, leaving her to suffer the consequences.
As many marriages were fixed to bring money or power into the family, or to sustain status and position in the neighborhood, arranged weddings between members of the family were common. In the 11th century the Council of Westminster decreed that no man could assemble the marriage of any female in his family group not having church approval, and gradually the church began to have an affect, restricting inter family relationships and driving the ceremony into the Church itself.
To start with, weddings generally took place in the church porch, which is why this space is normally so large in many churches. By the 15th century, Trent Council decreed that every wedding that took place without having a priest was nullified, and the Church was now recognized as the only location to get wedded.
